FTL, or Full Truckload
• For shipments that are large enough to fill or nearly fill an entire shipping container.
Intermodal
• By using shipping containers, shipments can easily move from one form of transport to another. The mode used for pickup and dropoff is usually road, although rail or barge modes may also be used.
LTL, or Less-than Truckload
• For smaller shipments, less than truckload shipping works out cheaper.
